The season of love is here! Valentine’s week is upon us and an exciting guest has joined us this week to help save lives with a touch of love.
DKMS Foundation India and Leon Grill present to you, #CupidOffDuty - a campaign where we attempt to share the love by spreading the message of lifesaving.
We are dedicated to helping patients suffering from blood cancer and blood disorders find a second chance at life by searching for their matching stem cell donor in our global registry. Together with Leon Grill, we have brought back the #CupidOffDuty campaign to celebrate love this year by potentially saving a life.
ABOUT BLOOD CANCER
Here are some facts about blood cancer that will definitely shock you.
- Blood cancer accounts for 8% of all new cases of cancer diagnosed in India.
- Every 5 minutes, someone in India is diagnosed with blood cancer or a blood disorder.
- This amounts to over 1 lakh people every year looking for a blood stem cell transplant
- Many blood cancer patients are children and young people whose only chance of recovery is a blood stem cell transplant.
- For a successful blood stem cell transplant, blood stem cells from a matching donor are required.
- Only about 30% of the patients in need of a blood stem cell transplant can find a sibling match.
- The rest 70% depend on finding a matching unrelated donor.

DKMS Foundation India and Leon Grill are partnering up with Cupid himself, the universal symbol of love. This year, Cupid is taking time off from his routine duties during the season of love to help patients suffering from blood disorders.
